Wells-Barkerville Elementary School

What the Wells-Barkerville Elementary School lacks in size it makes up for in heart. The wonderfully imaginative stories of the students are a reflection of the strong artistic undertones of this historic region. In fact, a brilliant mural adorns the side of the school itself.

Called “The Golden North” the mural was created by students and local artists, and is located on the south wall. An enormous compass points due north, surrounded by images depicting wildlife and the gold-rush heritage of the town.
